SAFETY, THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
The chemical hood is primarily a safety device, which must allow the operator to work in complete peace regardless of the hazard of the substances handled.
For this reason, the safety of the operator is at the top of the list of objectives that Ferraro Arredi Tecnici decided to pursue with the hood project.
In addition to the various certifications obtained, which rank it among the most “rewarded” hoods on the European market, test reports on containment values clearly show the quality of this safety project, synonymous with quality in product development as well as the materials carefully selected to build a winning product.
QUALITY OF MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION FEATURES
The hood consists of a supporting metal structure in Class “0” fire reaction with full-height load-bearing side panels made of steel with a protective polyester coating, specifically targeted for laboratory processing.
The rear part of the workspace consists of a double sheet of integral Labgrade fireproof laminate in class1, which forms a double aspirating chamber equipped with various suction slots capable of absorbing heavy gases at the bottom and light gases at the top.
The upper ceiling made of integral Labgrade laminate consists of a transparent polycarbonate panel located in the central part and has, at the top and therefore outside the workspace as required by the reference standard, an LED lamp with an IP 65 protection rating.
On the sides of the lamp, there are two explosion-proof hatches also made of Labgrade laminate, which will allow the venting of a possible shock wave in case of small explosions under the hood.
The framing allows the quick replacement of the work surface by simple removal, without requiring the disassembly of the supporting structure.
The front of the hood will consist of a counterbalanced sliding aluminum frame equipped inside with two horizontally sliding 3+3 safety type glasses. Even in horizontal scrolling conditions, the hood is certified according to EN14175, so the operator can perform operations facilitated by the horizontal movement of the double glass in an absolutely calm and guaranteed manner.
The work surface is positioned in a standard configuration at a height of 90 cm from the floor and can be made with different types of work surfaces. In the distillery version, the height of the surface from the floor is reduced to 50 cm.
The nozzles for water and gas are located on the back panel of the hood, while the remote controls for them and the electrical outlets are only housed and on the front panel below the work surface, thus leaving ample horizontal space on the work surface that will be used to its fullest potential.
The base is attached to the hood sides but is not a structural load-bearing element for the framing, this in order to possibly be extracted in the future by reconfiguring the hood as a walk-in (reconfiguration and furnishing flexibility).
The intake ports are designed and made to prevent the formation of turbulence or air vortices. The duct that gathers the intakes is in turn connected to the aspiration system. The air intakes are sized to create a balanced internal air distribution and a correct speed in the ducts.
COLORS
It is possible to customize the hood cabinet with chosen colors as well as the Ferraro logo, which can reflect the color choice made for the undercounter. Available in the catalog are anthracite, burgundy, light gray, classic blue, and white.
The painting of the metal structure will externally present an innovative and different color, abandoning the old Ral7035 and aiming at the development of a product in line with modern design.
